If you want high search engine ranking then firstly you need to make sure your site is actually indexed. For example if you want to optimize your web site to be on the first page of google you need to firstly make sure that google knows about you and has your site indexed.
Many webmasters use what is called black hat methods of getting google to notice them, i would seriously recommend you avoid these methods, it is not worth the risk. So on to how to get your web site indexed by google.
You can use the google submit url tool but to be honest there is no point. It can take anything from 3-6 weeks and that is a long time to wait. I have tried and tested many methods to get a site indexed by google fast and here are my findings. This is a method i always follow and has not yet let me down.
- Choose a good domain name - Try and include your main keywords in the domain if not available then use spacers.
- Create around 5 pages of good quality content. Make sure your content is not duplicated from any other site and that it is keyword enriched, i tend not to go over a 5% keyword density.
- Get a few back links from high PR web sites. This is the most important task. The web site that you get the link from must be on the same topic as your web site. Type in your keyword on google and look for high PR web sites that except links.
- Submit some articles to article directories like digg.com and goarticles.com The best in my opinion would be digg but do both. Make sure your article contains a link to your site.
- Join google webmaster tools, verify your site with them. From here you can check for any errors and check the status of your web site being indexed.
How to get to the top of Google
Now that your web site is indexed by google you want to get to the top. You can do this by concentrating on quality content and getting quality relavent links. Many people choose this path after all it is business and you have to spend money to make money right? Yes this is very true and i would never knock these methods, i have used them myself but i want to talk about organic search engine traffic and free search engine optimization.
